F1 Lost Wages already a joke

Casino workers can be some of the most entitled lot you'll ever come across. Losing their minds because a 15 min commute turned into 30 mins. Yes the initial paving project was a mess, but that's a one time thing and nothing like the closure of the overpass at Tropicana.

+1.

They whine when the traffic is bad, and the place is packed. Then they were all whining when Covid hit, and the place was all but an echo chamber.

So interesting news. Some concrete around the manhole cover fractured. In any case Toto get's it. (25 min mark). It's not a big deal.

The problem is not only what it does to the car, but the danger if it threw it up, and it hit the car following behind it. Granted with the HALO the driver is better protected than with the open cockpit.

But I remember when Felipe Massa got hit in the helmet from a spring that flew off Rubens Barrichello's car in front of him. It took him out for the season.

If it would have hit his visor, it would have killed him.

They really need to stick to dedicated tracks. There are plenty of them in Europe. This is a joke. I read that FIA violated their own rules by not certifying this track one day ahead of cars being on track.
They could have taken a play from the old CART series. Those were almost always ran on street courses with great results and super exciting to boot. I saw the race in Denver with my dad in 2001. This is why CART and Indy merged again. From my reading it took several million dollars to upgrade the street to be racecar friendly, something F1 has. Two for some reason planners didn't realize that Las Vegas gets wild temperature swings in the winter.

Tell Ferrari that. Tell Sainz that.
Context is important. Toto was responding to the question as to whether this incident during a practice session was a "black eye" for F1.

He obviously knows it's a big deal for Ferrari and Sainz. They all understand that this kinda of damage is a big deal.

I believe this interview was given between FP1 and FP2.

Toto needs to go away. He’s not a gracious loser. He would not be saying those things if it was his car. Lewis would be calling it sabotage. He’s probably smiling in private since it is a Ferrari sent back 10 spots and only 20 points separate the two teams.
No such thing as a gracious loser. It's a façade expected by some fans and the press.

Yep. No doubt open cockpit racing is dangerous. Danger can be a reason why people watch. It's entertainment after all.

Who is paying for the car.... Team should not incur penalty for improperly repaired track...
They're saying the concrete around the "manhole" failed. This goes to show you how much negative pressure is generated by the floor of todays cars.

Note: The cover is about 8-10" in diameter

read somewhere the landing fees at the airport for general aviation were increased to $3000 for the event.
FAA is looking into it as tax payers originally built it, and still support it with occasional influxes of project cash.

The big problem is there is no ramp space for the anticipated number of aircraft arriving. Raising fees is a way to weed out the riff raff since all of the local airports cannot accommodate all the aircraft that want to come here for the race.

Roger Federer is a gracious loser. Rafa Nadal is a gracious loser. Neither of them like it, but they are gracious about it.
No they're not. They put on a public façade. Some sports expect that type of post-contest behavior whereas others could not care less and prefer to let their emotions flow publicly. Toto for the most part tells it like it is especially with regards to the performance of their own team, but I'm also aware that team principals must work every angle they can within the rules and if that means public campaigning or what some people may see as whining, so be it. Everyone whines.
