I've been trying to find infomation on this, but I've had no luck. My curiousity is whether the fuels between Exxon and Mobil are identical to each other due to manufacturing costs. I know this can be complicated since different Mobil and Exxon stations can get their fuels from different suppliers, but I'm just checking to see if that's the general theory. Thanks folks.

If your supply is like it is around here it is all the same except for a little additive the tankers add. It all comes out of the same pipeline coming up the east coast.

Exxon sells the right to markett the Mobil name to anyone with the money. Licensees are not required to use Exxon fuel. In other words, when you fill up with Mobil, you do not know what type of fuel you are getting
