Keep in mind if the Bosch for your application says "Made in the USA" it's Made By Purolator. and by some accounts little more than a PureOne. (and a significant % of Puros have been failing (torn Media) over the past year or so.)

Problem today is that kiddies grow up without having to be accountable for anything and "expect" a car to be given to them when they get their license. If she had to work to buy that car for herself you would believe it would be taken care of and this wouldn't be an issue.

In my household, it would be a reality. Respect and maintain the car I lend you, or go buy your own car. Simple really. This is something she should have learned at 16, not "eventually overtime they will get it."

Kids these days are so entitled its disgusting. And you may think that you are "setting them up for success", when that couldn't be further from the truth. More likely setting them up for failure.

Well thanks for all the high and mighty posts of how it would be in you households. Or how it takes respect to remember to have a car serviced. That really helps a lot with a filter choice.

If she was driving at 16, and/or living with me I certainly would have had the time to teach her proper car maintenance on top of a lot of other things. As well as how to do it herself. Between my job, her job and school I don't see her as much, so I haven't even had it cross my mind to spend every minute we have discussing car maintenance.
I must not have any respect either, I still forget things on my cars once in a while. My truck is 1000 miles over due for a transmission flush, better call the police, have it sent to a more responsible family or write a post about how my irresponsibility will kill it or what ever you like.
I didn't even realize it until I was recording my mileage after doing an oil change on my car. I have been Pretty busy lately and have a lot on my mind. Kids going to school and working are pretty busy and have a lot on their minds too.

You see there is no free school here. She had to work her [censored] of to get just a partial scholarship and work a job while in high school to save up enough to further her own education. And she still may end up having to get a student loan.
But I guess if she forgets to do an oil change that still makes her irresponsible and privileged.

She wants to buy her own car too. I made a deal with her to borrow my car and save her money for the 2 years she is out of state. Since she may not find a job there right away, That will give her more money for an emergency or school. Then when she comes home and finds a job she will likely be able to pay cash for a car and avoid having a loan.

I bought my first car myself with my own money. Because it was my car and I did what I wanted with it. I abused that car to no end and never took care of it. I say that because her buying a car herself, does not mean she will automatically take care of it.

I am truly happy for those of you that have perfect lives and families and everything works out like it should.
Me and my family aren't there yet, so ween need to keep trying to get there.

By the way I am likely going to use the Fram Ultra. It seems to be the best value.

Fram Ultra no question, the best of the best.

Amsoil signature series, Mobil 1 EP, Castrol Edge, or Pennzoil Ultra would be my go to oils for those long runs.

I actually kinda like this idea... where is the school?

You could use the XG3600 if there is room for it. It is almost 5" long and the PH8316 is just over 4" long. That said, she still needs to check the oil and be able to ad oil when the car needs it. Use the best oil you can afford

Go to Napa and get their Napa Platinum filter, part #41315. Napa Platinum is Wix XP (the Wix-brand part number is 51315XP)

You can also buy the M1-211 from Amazon and Walmart (online, but not carried in-store)

I emailed the guy from Fram that posts on here occasionally, when the Ultra first came out, and asked about the XG8316, and he had said that it was in the works.

Also, Rock Auto has the Motorcraft FL-2005 in-stock check it out

One more vote for Fram ULTRA, good price, widely available, excellent specs!
Do overfill oil by 0.5qt.
Sorry no lecture on rising kids.
Good luck to you and her.
