I was think about doing a little experiment with a new Amsoil Eao. Tell me what ya'll think.

I am just finishing an autorx rinse on my '04 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 V6 w/ 25k miles. Mostly stock vehicle, paper air filter. Few bolt ons like Catback exhaust, UD pulley, Flash programer.

So I was thinking about running a new Amsoil EAO filter. Then running some synthetic oil (haven't decided on oil yet). Sample and test at 5000-8000 miles using my new Fumoto valve. I could change oil when needed but use the same filter.

That way we know the oil will be good and that removes one variable and we can see if filtration changes with subsequent test with the same filter. What do you think?

It might take a while, but I'm willing to do it. I've run Amsoil 5w30 w/ analysis in the past, prior to autorx that is. From now going forward I was thinking I would use something else. My ananlysis showed 8000 mile OCI was about it on that oil. So that's where that number came from.
