In-N-Out is always like this.
A situation made for hybrids. Partial electric and ice shutoff .
A situation made for one of those empty parking spaces and FEET!
That's another one I was disappointed by when I finally tried it.

It’s almost always faster to go inside and get your food than going through the drive thru. Plus there’s less chance of getting your order messed up if you go inside. Not to mention that I hate unnecessarily idling my cars.

would also think - in 2026 - they’d have a crystal clear intercom
can you not order online and do pickup inside?
Been a long time since I've been hungry enough to que up like that.
I always find that amazing. How lazy we have become.
My wife and I purposely park at the far end of the parking lot to get the walking exercise which we do every single point in our life. Keep moving with your feet.
Fast food is poison. People complain about the cost of health insurance? Drive down any busy street at dinner time or lunchtime or anytime and check out the fast food places there’s your answer.
That line looks similar to the drive-thru at Chick-Fil-A during breakfast/lunch/dinner time +/- an hour. However, the local Chick-Fil-A's have doublewide drive thru lines (i.e., 2 lanes)!
My wife just loves it when I do that.
I do it to avoid other nearby vehicles, or shall I say people.I've never used a drive thru, never will. If they don't have a place to sit and eat inside, I'll spend my money where they do. Joe Pechi's character in one of the "lethal Weapon" movies had the definitive statement on drive thru. I hate idling in an endless line, I'd rather sit inside and eat, watching those wasting gas in the heat or cold. I also hate eating in the car.

It's like this near my house. They opened up a couple of months ago and your right its always packed. If they were 24/7 I bet they'd still be backed up.
