Zimmerman rotors are a very good rotor and don't cost a fortune, ATE, Textar, Pagid are all good pads and are commonly used in Europe as standard replacements.


I had Zimmerman rotors resurfaced at a one-man shop. The guy normally works on American and Japanese auto brands and was not familiar with Zimmerman rotors. He was really impressed by the quality.

You know it's expensive just going into a BMW service dept. Free Starbucks, snacks, drinks. Ford maybe some old coffee if you are lucky. Parts are more for BMW even online but I love the availability once they age. A 15 year old BMW or Mercedes you can still get nearly every part from the manufacturer. Good luck with a Lincoln. Also look what is still on the road 20+ year old BMW's you see every day. When was the last time you saw a Lincoln LS on the road? BMW's are a money pit though if not careful. Learn to work on it, find a good local independent mechanic or trade it in every 3 years when the free maintenance is up. I'm still driving a 1998 328i 5 speed, it hasn't been cheap but is still enjoyable. I like getting back in after a lousy rental, and I have had many (Fiat, Jeep Liberty, Ford Focus, Kia Soul, etc.) that I would never trade my old "worthless" BMW for.

Mkz is a badge engineered Ford Fusion. Basically a tarted up family sedan. The BMW 5 series started design life as performance/luxury vehicle. Not comparable.

the lowly VW use many of the same parts as Audi at lower cost!!! NEVER use the stealer unless its a warranty job as you WILL pay MORE!!!!
