Ester oil for AC systems added to engine oil

Compatible with mineral oils. Everyone says ester oils clean off oil deposits, so why not experiment with putting this in an engine.

Ester based engine oils like Redline and Valvoline Premium Blue Restore clean up engines on the inside. and offer less friction and heat.
I was wondering if you can add in ester oil yourself like this product made for compressors, and do it cheaper and get the same benefits.
Esters stick better to metal surfaces, so adding in some ester is a good thing.

Then there is this ester Lubegard product...

AFAIK, that is what Restore and Protect, and Stiction Eliminator use.
At some level in their cleaning products

I bought 5 gallons box of Valvoline Restore and Protect from Walmart for $113, which is a decent price

But I am always thinking of something to experiment with, that could be cheaper, and also work.

You know it's a blend of an ester oil, whereas the AC product is pure.

OP - you already asked this question a few years ago.

You got very good information from Molakule in that other thread. Not all esters are the same, and the ones based on AC systems are different than those for engine oils. Further, how would you know how much to add, relative to the other chemistry already present in a fully formulated oils? Hint: you wouldn't ...

All that said, you can do what you want. But when you're not happy with the results, don't expect any sympathy here.
