Just learned this morning that Esso Superflo syn oil is being cleared out in Canada due to the big Mobil/Imperial/Esso merger. I talked directly to the Esso Tech on the 1-800 Esso hot line. Mobil is replacing Esso Superflo with Mobil line of syn at Esso Bulk Stations.

Esso XD3 0-30 or 0-40 is not affected, a buddy told me that XD3 was going to be discontinued too, that scared me and that is why I called the Esso tech line, XD3 syn oils are here to stay, Superflo gone according to Esso info line.

Mobil syn oil now sold at Esso Bulk in (6) 1 litre bottle flats at bulk pricing. I am posting info on Esso Sale in "Sales" forum near bottom of BITOG home page.

Hold it guys, sorry if I mislead you accidentally, the Superflo Syn in 5-30 and 10-30 are discontinued in Canada.

The XD3 Dino in 15-40 and other grades are SAFE as well as the XD3 syn oils.

Only the Superflo syn is gone, Dino XD3 and Syn XD3 are safe.

I only mentioned the 0-30 and 0-40 XD3 syn oils in previous initial post because I was talking about Esso XD3 syn oils possibly being discontinued, I found out from Esso tech it was Superflo and only Superflo getting the axe, XD3 is safe in syn and dino.

Sorry about confusion guys, breathe easy, you probably felt same way I felt when my buddy misinformed me about XD3 because his Esso agent misinformed him, I went right to Esso tech line and got the real deal.

I've seen from personal experience that Superflo was a POS. A Mobil rep told me last fall that it was redundant to have this and Mobil 1 in their line. Some of the most ugly used oil analysis I've ever seen came fom Superflo. Good riddance.

I haven't seen Superflo synthetic around here in years! It used to be sold at Esso stations, but when Exxon merged with Mobil, the Esso stations here started carrying M1 instead.

Terry has mentioned in the past that Esso Superflo synthetic was very good! The older formulations anyhow. (possibly the SJ stuff?)

Superflo stocks still plenty at some Sask bulk stations, this buddy who was misinformed as per my first post went in and bought 12 litres Superflo, $77.00 total, for about 5 bucks more he could have had 12 litres Mobil in flats of six now at Esso Bulk. Like buying hamberger for price of steak, he is returning Superflo for Mobil, why isn't Esso selling this Superflo at hamberger prices to get rid of it?

I'm not sure but doesn't the Esso bulk supplier sell Mobil brands also?I should have asked him this question last time I talked to him...if he does I'll get Delvac 1 5W-40 for my Jeeps and pay the piper

..till that happens it's XD-3 0W-40 all the way

Terry told me the same thing. I use to use Exxon Superflo synthetic, the SJ formulation. I was able to buy it for US$2.75, a real steal. But I've not seen it for years

, probably since the merger of Exxon/Esso and Mobil.
