why bother when you can m-1, pp , pu or even amsoil for lots less unless you plan on a 15000 oci.

Chad, I don't think in his location those are viable options.

Catalin, is the Mazda 1.6 a petrol or diesel engine?

I don't have access to Amsoil or PP, and i can get that Eneos for much less (almost half) than M1 or Castrol Edge

It's a petrol 1.6 16valve, the manual calls for 5w30.

Thanks

What oil specs (ACEA or other) does the owner's manual call for?

it says "SG (Energy Conserving II), SH (Energy Conserving II), SJ or ILSAC (GF-I, GF-II)"

Around 100k miles, mostly city(with occasional spirited driving), a bit of highway and a couple of long trips from time to time.

The manual says 10w30 is ok for summer, so i guess i would be fine with a thicker 5w30 even in winter? (which is not that tough here)

How long are your oil change intervals? Both these low-SAPS oils are very good but they are TBN-challenged. Also, what is the gasoline like in Romania? Ethanol percentage and sulfur PPM maximum may factor into what oil you should use.

I realize it might not be the recommended viscosity in your owners manual but I'd use something like the 5W-40 that they sell at the Petrom stations. This oil is much more robust than the low/mid-SAPS oils that you're looking at. And no offense but not all of the gasoline in Romania is top grade. I'd use a oil with good detergent capabilities to keep things in suspension.

Also, I'd limit drain intervals to 10,000KM's or one year.

Alright, it's settled. Found a good price on Castrol Edge 0W-30, i'm going for it.

Thanks for time.

Castrol's "Edge" product line in Europe is impressive. If you have access to it then I think it'd be a better choice.

Enjoy the summer weather!!

I need advice guys.

I'm planning to use Eneos Premium Hyper 5w30 in a Toyota Auris 1.4 diesel.

Toyota owner's manual says: 5w30, ACEA A1/B1 or A5/B5.
This Eneos oil is ACEA A3/B4.

Can I put >3.5 HTHS oil if engine requires Is this better for this engine or worst?

Engine does not have DPF and I wan't more durability for my engine, don't care about fuel consumption.

Now I'm using Liqui Molly TopTec 4300:

Which oil is better for my engine?

Thanks on any answer.
