An idle PS pump drags less than a water pump, it drags as much as a disengaged AC compression (another malappropriately removed item). Both an idle PS pump and AC pulley drag just as much as a steel wheel freewheeling on a bearing. You'd accomplish more by worrying whats for dinner that day, than you ever would by removing those devices for fuel economy.
