Anyone have any experience with electric impact wrenches of the corded variety? Any recommendations for a 1/2 drive model for around $200?

My SnapOn® was a little more than $200 ..but it came with a decent set of impact sockets. I believe it was a rebadged B&D or DeWalt. Basically a heavy brush type mini-hammer drill.
Nice polished shiny chrome thingie on it
Makes backyard tire changing a snap. You'll never wear one out in home use.
My regular wrench has all but abandoned his air impacts for battery powered electrics.

Thanks guys. I was concerned the battery powered ones would lack the oommpph that is needed once in awhile. Maybe not?

They do well...you're only limited to the number of tasks that you can perform witout recharging. This is easily solved by having a spare battery on standby. Some have two or three spares if they're a tire shop.
I have used the milwaukee cordless impacts, and I am not real impressed with them, as far as durability or power.
Any recommendations for corded impacts?
Sorry, but the only corded impact that I have actually used, is a 25-30 year old B&D, that a buddy of mine has. It works like a champ, but that really doesn't help you much. I don't really care for corded impacts myself, as they are usually either very large, as compared to pneumatic models.......or they don't have enough torque. Plus, sometimes with automotive situations, you have to use an impact to remove a drain plug........and occasionally, the wrench gets doused with fluid. With a pneumatic, this isn't much of a problem. With an electric.............
But that is me, to others, they may find the benefits of an electric preferable.

Thanks sewerman, based on your experience the Milwaukee gets the nod. I need something I can take to a friends house for a stranded neglected vehicle. A big @ss extension cord and the Milwaukee should do the trick.
I just bought a DeWalt electric impact wrench. It's never going to see the abuse of pro use, so I figure it'll last longer than I will. It works very well on lug nuts, but I haven't tried it on anything really stubborn yet.

we've got 2 of the 18V cordless Milwaukee's at work (ironworker)... they work great on stuff up to a 5/8 A325 bolt. for the bigger stuff I break out my CP air powered impacts. they've been very durable... we did have to replace the case to one though... broke the handle off it by dropping it from about 25ft up.
we have a Makita corded impact at work as well.... the thing sucks, absolutely no power.
