Waffle House just put a 50 ¢ surcharge per egg on every order.
So-my guess is that this avoids printing new menus (which costs alot) with raised prices. Also probably banking on the egg situation being limited in length.

Constantly mutates like all other flu. That's why they recommend a flu shot every year. They take the most popular strains and current mutations and make up a flu stew and pump you full of it hoping that it helps you fight off whatever strain/mutation you come into contact with.

Wife and I go through about a dozen every two weeks or so. I haven't had any real issues getting eggs here in NoVA. Harris Teeter seems to not have any when I've gone there but Wegmans, while not fully stocked, had plenty the two times I've gone there for some.

That's correct. The public health officials make their best guess as to which of 2 Influenza A-types and 1 Influenza B-type are likely to be prevalent in the coming year and base the vaccines on that.
The worry is that bird flu (H5N1 influenza) will eventually mutate enough to be easily transmitted to humans and even worse be transmissible from human to human. At that point we have to hope that our "flu shots" will be generic enough to protect us. There are currently literally a handful of human cases. We recently had a single case in British Columbia.
If you're interested, look up the flu pandemic of 1918 - 20. Many people think it was caused by a H5N1 influenza virus.

For $500 cash, I will reveal a facility in mid-Michigan that is selling unwashed* cage free eggs $5/tray of 30.
*unwashed = better...... they store MUCH better due to the natural protective layer intact (bloom) . Just have to deal with a speck or two of poo here and there, something farmers (and real men, lol) don't blink an eye at.
