I was buying some BP GTX for the spouse's Forester ($12/5qt jug at Wall-ofChina-Mart) and I happened to spy BP Castrol EDGE 10w30 on sale for $26.50 down from $34. for a 5qt jug. I guess BP finally came to the realisation that there is a onging economic recession in the REAL world. I left with only the GTX underarm, since I have been unemployed for the past 8 mos.

Still too expensive IMO. PP is $20 minus $15 with rebate and M1 is $22. My Walmart didn't even have the 5w30 Edge.

I actually think finished oil prices will be going up soon.

Yeah,

but when Walmart decides to get rid of an item, they will put it at a blow out price just to get rid of it.

Castrol is being stupid to try and introduce a premium synthetic. How much money did they spend advertising Syntec? Now they are saying Syntec really isn't so great, buy Edge. Dumb.

AAP has Edge priced at $6.49 and Syntec at $6.99 now

+1

Though the rumor I heard was the Walmart was going to drop a few prices first:

ST dino- 7.50

ST syn- 14 bucks

Syntec-17.50

All jugs, of course. Granted, this is only what I heard...it could change any time.

Looks like Pennzoil is making the same mistake.

Till thurs there is a sale at AAP. 5qts Castrol EDGE, and a Bosch Distanceplus for $29.99 plus tax. (The bosch filter is usually like $14 by itself. Unbeatable deal)

There's also a $5 rebate from Bosch, check the Rebates forum for details.

What are the particulars of the $15 PP rebate?
