Been using Super Techs on my 86 turbo Lancer for 1 year now. I like the minimal flow restriction from the ecore's cage design as opposed to the punched metal center tubes so I put an STP on my 05 Grand Prix V8 last fall. I do oil on both cars on the same day. These filters have been on since October of 05. The lighter one on the right is the STP with about 3k miles on it. The super tech has close to 9k miles on it. It does look like they use different media. The end caps are still on tight. So far so good with these. I used STP's on both engines this time. Does anyone know the specifics on the filter media for these two champ filters? They do appear to use different media.
