Howdy. The EcoDiesel uses a cartridge oil filter with a plastic housing. How do I install a remote oil filter? Anyone done this?

I have a 2016 RAM 1500. Thank you.

The ecodiesel remote filter kits are pretty expensive compared to others. That and replacement bypass filters are a grand with tax. And it being an older one i think the benefits one could get now are almost gone since it's late to the party. I'd look into using a fram ultra or similar 99% at 20um filter instead and just save the grand for when you'll eventually need to throw money at it given it's a 2016 but a grand won't put a dent into the repairs it'll ask in the future. Honestly i'd just wait for a holiday to trade it in during a big dealer sale soon while that 8 year old ecodiesel is still good. I think it'll keep running fine until December which is when the best deals are had. I really would not continue to own that for much longer.

Does Baxter make one?
They don't have the EcoDiesel in the drop down for for truck. I could contact them. Thanks for the tip.

Wow, I had no idea how expensive some of these systems are. I'm not spending $800 on an oil filter mount and a couple of lines. Even the Amsoil universal kit is almost $400. Might just take a pass on the whole remote filter thing. I'll keep on looking.

The traditional bypass filter might be an easier play. T off the oil pressure sensor and run the return… anywhere… valve cover, tapped oil pan. The bypass moves slowly.
