All alkaline eventually will leak. I've switched to Lithium and no leak problems. Catch them on sale every now and again.

I just use Panasonic blue colored 9v batteries from a dollar store, never an issue and they last.
The ProCell (Duracell) are really good in smoke detectors.
AC Delco. 1/2 of the 48 pack leaked. Hecho en China. EXP date 2030
Had a 20 pack of duracell AAA quantum. 15 leaked.....inside the device. Maybe knock offs ?????? They were NOT on sale either, nor expired.

I've read that Duracells are known to leak, as well as the Duracell made Kirkland batteries. I don't use a ton of them, but have experienced them leaking in a smoke detector after many years. I've since switched to Energize Lithium for my smoke detectors.
Yep, so did I, Lithium in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. They never leak.

Duracell is junk! Guaranteed to leak and ruin what ever they are in. Ive had several expensive tools trashed from leaking duracells.

I just had a rechargeable alkaline AA battery blow up on the charger a couple nights ago. I've had a few from the pack bulge and I threw them away after charging. Sounded like a 22 going off in the kitchen. My wife ordered them and thought she was getting NiMH because they are identical to the green amazon brand and said in the description that they were NiMH. We had already used them several times before we noticed they weren't the amazon NiMH so we didn't return them. The charger says it will charge that type of alkaline battery but I won't use them anymore. I did notice Amazon removed them from their platform so somebody else must have had the same issues.
Never read / heard of a " rechargeable" alkaline battery. Thought they were one time use only batteries. Amazon must have made a mistake in selling them as such. I've read that Lithium, NiCad, NiMH are rechargeable. Scary that they blew up. Good thing they didn't start a fire.

Broke the plastic case on the charger but that was about it. Those batteries were a thing years ago but they didn't charge very many times and were cheap. Had I noticed the tiny writing soon enough I'm sure they would have refunded me but it wasn't worth the hassle. I threw the rest of them in the garbage. There is always somebody selling a knockoff and makes a profit before Amazon and ebay catches them.
