Back in the 80’s I saw a brand new Yugo at a new car show. The factory paint was over top a leaf lying on the hood.

Back in the '70's if you prepped it right Earls did a decent paint job for cheap. Being that the guys there sprayed a lot of cars they could lay on a decent top coat. It was all about the prep.

I remember them. My parent’s preferred getting their bodywork done at classier joints. AAMCO. No wait, Maaco. Double A’s = class.

Back in high school my buddy had a 58 Oldsmobile painted fire engine red. Looked good except when tried to open passenger doors and trunk he realized they were painted shut!
