E36 BMW race car oil - Castrol vs Redline vs Vertex

Knowledgeable people are telling you what to run but you keep insisting on running the 10W60
No not at all, I'm definitely changing from 10W-60, I'm just trying to make the most educated decision I can on what I do use, and I am being careful as my car has survived three seasons of racing using 10W-60 oil.... I've researched all the oils suggested in this thread and have narrowed it down to the properties of the two Penrite oils I'm deciding between. These oil are also readily available at a reasonable price in my country which is also another consideration.

Sure, HTHS is important, but so are other factors in oil.
You have 240,000km on clock. My BMW has 236,000km and I run on track 5W40 or 0W40. And track where I run my car is at 5,100ft where it is far, FAR more difficult to cool off engine. I also use this BMW as daily, dropping kids, going to office, and ski.
So, at that oil temperature, honestly, you could run some racing oil 5W30 or 10W30 as long as HTHS is above 3.5. But, I get it. I would, too, stay on just a bit thicker side. I would shoot at 4.0-4.2cP HTHS.

Got you. Didn’t mean to come off harsh if you took it that way
