Anyone see a problem with running Druablend GF-4 5W30 4,000 miles in an 04 Tacoma V6? I'm going on a long vacation and I'm figuring about 4,000 miles will be on this oil by the time I get back. Thanks in advance.

I recently did a uoa on my wife's Explorer with 4.0 v6 running 5000 mile oci with 10w-30 Valvoline All-Climate(dino). Results were very good. She runs mostly highway 70 % with 30% in the city. 4000 with Durablend on a long vacation should be nothing more than a leisurely stroll in the park for this oil.

Dura-blend is a reasonably decent oil, and it would be to your benifent to look at the used oil reselts,, my experence there is other lubes out for similar price and preformance,go for a full synthetic or similar ,group 3 or Schaeffers brand,,watch the Auto stores soom Iam informed,,,,BL

Durablend 5w30 is likely a new formulation for GF-4 and may have gone the GRP III/II route as indicated by the 4800 cP @ -30C cold crank rating.

Previously, the Durablend 5w30 GF-3 was a GRP III & I blend and listed a 5400 cP cold crank rating.

The new GF-4 oils are being promoted as better for cold starts, less breakdown due to engine heat & oxidation and less engine deposits than previous ILSAC grades.

I bought 5 quarts of GF-4 Durablend 5w30 thru the Valvoline rebate offer & was impressed with the clear color of this oil.
