Sure do!!

I did a very detailed experiment with that and 5 other high quality waxes.

The Dupont won "hands down".

SUUUUUCKS!

teflon bond at very high temperature. This way is decent at filling swirls but the durability is bad. Just go out to an Carquest and buy some Duragloss 105. It'll last longer and look better. (i'm talking about 4-5 months of durability)

cool , I may have to try it. It is only like $6.00 at walmart. Ive been using Mothers Cleaner Wax. Does a good job but im looking to try something new.

DURAGLOSS 105 + Aquawax
Best 15 dollars you'll ever spend, 6 dollars of Dupont Teflon wax will last you a month and you'll keep having to apply every month for a year.

Duragloss 105 and Aquawax will last you about 5 months with one application and still have enougg to do your car for the next 5 years or so.

If you want swirl filling you can use Duragloss 101 and top it with 105 or Aquawax.

Mother's cleaner wax is probably better then the Dupont in my opinion. Use it up and go up to Duragloss, you'll never turn back

Of course, once someone runs a thorough experiment, someone is always there to cut it down.

I was somewhat surprised to see Dupont producing a 'teflon wax' considering the stand they took with Slick 50 that their name was not to be on the product. This was because they knew Teflon does no good if it's not properly applied. This goes for wax as well. I don't know what advantages Teflon can possibly bring to wax, but I can assure you that you don't end up with Teflon bonded to your paint as a result of using it.

You guys need to give Malco Showroom shine a try if you like AW. I have been reading how good AW is so I stopped at carquest and bought a bottle. I tried it and thought it was okay but still prefer showroom shine.

i don't see how saying you tested stuff and not giving names or how the test was conducted is relevant.

i detail as week end job and work on a lot of cars, I use both OTC and upper-end products, usually use the OTC waxes for cheap detail jobs ($20-$30) and on my friends cars that I do with them.

consumer range
- Turtlewax F21
- Turtlewax Platinum Ultra Gloss
- Turtlewax ICE
- Eagle 1 Nano
- Meguiars NXT
- 3M Perfect-It
- Dupont Teflon
- Dupont ION
- Mother's Cleaner
- Mother's Pure Carnauba
- Zymol Cleaner Wax
- Black Magic Titanium Synthetic Wax
- Mother's FX Synthetic Wax
- Rain-X Wax
- Prestone High Protection Synthetic Wax
- Duragloss 101
- Duragloss 105
- Liquid Glass
- NuFinish
- Meguiars Color-X
- Both Meguiars and Mother's Three Step.

Upper-End Stuff
- Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Sealant
- Klasse AIO/SG
- Einszett Glanz Wax
- S100/P21S
- Collinite 845
- Opti-Seal
- Pinnacle Souveran Wax
- Meguiars #26 High Tech Wax
- Meguiars #20 Sealant

and I can say. Dupont Teflon is average, good fillers, but the durability is average and the depth/gloss/shine is meh for the money. There's better for the price of $6 dollars, if you want an OTC product spend a bit more and get some NXT.

What kind of detail job do people get for $30? Just a wash and hand wax with an OTC product?

just wash, dry, wax..dress tires and dress the interior with some 303.

i charge 200 for the paint restoration, which is wash/dry/clay/polish with pc/seal/wax and for an extra 50, we shampoo and vac the interior.

i consider it consumer because its readily availiable and has no premium prices. High end stuff i consider high end becuase of the performance and the price.

So performance price makes it "high end"? Sorry, I consider performace the "main" criteria for a high end product and readly available and reasonable price makes it even better. On many items the service after the sale makes or breaks a high end product.

I also like the s100 wax which is readly available at Harley dealers for a reasonable price. Anyway, every list is subject to evaluation by others. No offense intended

The guy that details my car claims that teflon is the only thing that has a chance of withstanding the high heat that we get here in FL. Everything else melts off right away. At least that's what he claims.

I have him reapply it every 6 months on my car, but honestly, it doesn't last that long, IMO. My (black) car sits out in the open sun while I'm at work. Paint oxidation is a big problem.
