When you buy rotors, does it come with one rotor? Or two?

When you buy front or rear brakes pads, does it usually come with pads for both sides?

I need to do a brake job and I hope I purchased everything right:

-4 rotors
-2 boxes of brake pads (Front and Rear)

Technically its an "axle set." When you buy pads for a vehicle that has multiple pads per caliper, like on some 4 and 6 pot calipers there might be 8 or 12 pads in the box.

Don't forget to get a small tube or even a packet of grease thats made for disc brakes. I think at NAPA its called "Sil-Glide" or something close. It goes on the area where the "ears" slide and where the piston contacts the pad. And less is better in this case.

Yes, any brand of brake caliper lube. This goes on metal-to-metal parts ONLY, never on the friction material, not even a smear.

Occasionally I have been sold 2 rotors in one box. However, I have only seen this when getting rotors for an uncommon European car, where only European based companies sell the rotors.

Also, I have heard some companies that make drilled or slotted rotors sell 2 in a box, because those rotors are made to go in one direction only, so the left and right rotor must be built differently.

What kind of car do you have?

Ordering online, usually the description states if it is 2 in the box.
Directional rotors will state "left" or "right".....of course there will only be 1 in the box in that case.

When I have looked at various parts online, the normal is for rotors and drums to be sold 1 per package and pads to be sold "per axle", meaning pads for both sides in 1 box.
Again, that is "normal" but still carefully read the description to be sure.
