As it turns out many customers are dishonest and dedicated staff has to keep multiple eyes on the self-checkout stations. "Unexpected item!"I thought the self checkout was to save on staffing numbers.
They have electronic devices to monitor the checkout process. They pop up on the screen as you scan them. They can tell when you don't scan an item. Yes eyes are needed-but 10 sets of eyes for 10 self checkout lanes...As it turns out many customers are dishonest and dedicated staff has to keep multiple eyes on the self-checkout stations. Looks like the monitoring and theft prevention aren't working sufficiently. Self-checkouts are slowly going away. They have electronic devices to monitor the checkout process. The more you know......
good. Never liked them. Over here they are still implementing more thoughLooks like the monitoring and theft prevention aren't working sufficiently. Self-checkouts are slowly going away.
Or how about someone who lets their four-year old scan while there's a line.I love self check out. It should be reserved for smaller amounts of purchases though. Nothing worse then waiting behind someone slowly scanning their large cart full of groceries…
I seem to always get behind those types when I'm in the regular staffed checkout line. Mom pays for her groceries, and then it's time for adorable little Timmy to pay for his candy and baseball cards and he unloads a sock full of pennies all over the counter and the line grows longer and longer while the cashier counts themOr how about someone who lets their four-year old scan while there's a line.
Can''t monitor shoplifting or help people who are having problems at the terminal. That's an ironic situation.
So going places and doing stuff isn’t quite your thing? If I can order online, I tend to do that. I don’t enjoy physically going to stores.
