I am looking for an oil that meets the Shell Advance Ultra 4 specs. Seems this oil is not available in the USA. Valvoline does not have a compatable oil & non of the other oil manufacturers have responded to my e mails.

Do you own a Ducati?

The Mobil 1 motorcycle oils are very popular with the Ducati crowd here in WI.

I would think that Motul 300V is on par with any oil out there in terms of specifications. I keep wanting to do a UOA with Motul but just can't seem to find some on sale...at full price it's like liquid gold.

Something high quality and reasonably priced I would take a look at Rotella T6.

Here's a good link too- http://www.webbikeworld.com/ducati-motorcycles/gt-1000/oil-change/ ...further down the page (the whole thing is useful though) there is a table that compares possible substitutes. On oil update #2, he actually tries Motul and seems to like it...hope that helps a bit!

Wow, that Webbikeworld article sure was a lot of writing over a oil change.

Not available in the states. There are some suppliers that will ship to US in Australia if you are dead set on it. Long ago, the exchange rate was such that I was able to get 12 quarts of Advance 2 stroke sent from AU cheaper than I could get 12 quarts of Castrol TTS locally. Pretty sure it's not that way now.
