After the last 4 days on track (last week/weekend), I had a mess in the engine bay/subframe on the left side. The DSG spurts fluid of the OEM vent box (which looks like an electrical component and clips to the side of the battery tray and is supposed to solve this issue for the earlier models that had just a vent with a cap that would spray out) . This can will solve that issue with a simple drain back system so set and forget. Slick little piece of kit. Hopefully tomorrow my Bar-Tek larger DSG heat exchanger will arrive from Europe so I can get this thing back together and out of the garage after the oil and DSG fluid changes. I have seen up to ~270 deg F DSG temps on track before in warm ambients so I guess it just gets hot and burps sometimes.

That engine bay could use some serious detailing <sarc>

the MG has breathers that extent over a foot above the gearbox. Not quite as high as the can but close. sSo far so good, I figured it was more for traversing deep water (both the gear case as the actuator hydraukis have the high mounted breathers. The manual only states to turn off auto stop/start when going through deep water..... yeah a stopped engine with the starter submerged could be bad....

This is where it goes. What's wrong with over the brake reservoir? I can still open it/add fluid.
I could just see some overflow dropping into the brake fluid when bleeding the brakes. Probably never happen, but anywhere else just seems like a better idea.

Easy enough to just remove it if that was a concern. I don't leave the cap off when I bleed mine. At some point you only want the hose so long and not a lot of real estate to work with. This is fine.
