I was in Advance and I opened up the box for a Pureone to inspect it, but I dropped it on the ground. I bought it, because it was my fault I dropped it.

I only noticed a slight chip in the grip coating around the base of the filter. It doesn't make any rattling noises when I shake it.

Do you think it is safe to use?

To the OP: It's fine to use. If you think filters make it all the way to the shelf from the factory without ever being dropped...

Classy decisions. Kudos on the man-up!

In this case, since there seems to be no apparent damage except to paint, I agree... use it.
