Was at my 1 year old niece's birthday party. He pulled up in it, and I did not know he even bought one. So I walked up and pretended to hug the car instead of him and my sister.

He smiled at that knowing I liked his car. Did not know it was a Lamborghini engine. The engine is under the rear decklid glass which surprised me. We went for a ride later and I have never felt anything accelerate any harder. Kind of weird having people in vehicles gawk at us while we were driving......I guess it's what it must feel like to be a celebrity driving around being noticed. Kind of a little unnerving.

You mean the hat ta ta t at atat ta and omfg what kind of car is that and who is driving it look?

The car had some carbon fiber panels and such on the side and under the hatchback in the engine compartment.
Yes some street rocket biker guy was eying my brother in law coming from the opposite direction with a stare down.......
Don't know if he was drooling over the Audi, or wanted to race?

Though I have a feeling he could not make it to 197 MPH that the Audi can go. But he might be faster up to somewhere below that speed?

He said he ordered it and had it shipped from Florida? I asked why, and he said that's where he could get it with the options he wanted even though he lives on the west coast.

It's possible, but he seemed disturbed by the motorcycle riders stare down, so I'm not sure about that.

Just read your sig line, that is funny.......

AFAIK, there is a long waiting list for these. He did what he had to to get the car he wanted.

One of the best looking cars ever!

That car has been my "if money were no object" car for quite some time. I don't think there is any other supercar that could be used as a daily driver quite like the R8, possibly the Panamera is the only thing more purposeful but that thing is ungodly ugly. Corvette ZR1, well, I'd rather not spend 110k on an engine encased with plastic.

A stare down from some guy on a bike?
He was probably jealous, and you should never let anyone stare you down.
Anyway, I'd drool over it too.
Did he let you drive it?
Did you ask?
I would have.

There's no waiting list for R8's. The first year they came out there was, but now the market has cooled down.

3.x seconds to 60 is very fast, most people don't get to experience this. Luckily, some of us do.

Audi makes some great looking and performing cars. I don't think I will ever again own one after the warranty expires though...
