So I work a crazy swing shift where I have to be at work at 5:15 am twice a week. Near the summer solstice I get to see the sun rise, which makes an otherwise boring, barren drive worth it. Am often the only car on the road.

^ Last one is a bulk oil distributor just down the street from my office.

I love early morning drives like this when noone is on the road. Of course Central Illinois is not near as beautiful as Maine.

Great pictures.

I love the scenery in that part of the country. I am headed up to Vermont next week, so hopefully I'll be able to get some nice pictures too.

I love driving out in the country. There's a road around here that's surrounded by water on both sides, and has no guardrail. The water level is almost the same as the road, and it's a typical dirt road (i.e., drive down the middle until you see an oncoming car, then slow down and gently pass each other using the shoulder) that runs for about 500 m before you see land again. Been dying to get a picture of that.

Living in the Bush Capital has similar. One morning cows were being herded down a road to work by a guy on horseback say 500 metres from my home. Doesn't get more country than that IMO.

Great pics, if I can get up I love leaving early to get to my classes, just like you said, not a car on the road, very peaceful.
