Driveworks DW#4459 (CUT OPEN)

Good afternoon folks. So, this filter came off a friend of mine's 2013 Kia Forte. Moved to the area and said the Pennzoil Conventional and Driveworks has 8,955 on it. Unknown total miles on car. Lil' overspray inside can and ADBV was lil' stiff. No tears and I may return the ones I picked up for the focus's. Think I'll take a NAPA/WIX. Any questions please ask. Pennzoil Conventional 5w20 used and a Kia/Hyundai OEM on now for hopefully 5k.

LOONNNGGG time on a base level filter... I would not have gone over 5k... You know I could exchange the one I have for that type. I bet if it was used 4k to 5k miles it would have fared a bit better

Yeah I dislike the massive overspray in can and way too heavy on glue. Least it didn't tear LOL!

Yeah, still a lot we don't know about Driveworks. I'd like to see some efficiency specs and bypass specs and such. I think I will stick to Napa/wix and FRAM tough guards

Wait you mean to tell me a drive works can go almost 9,000 miles and not tear. Meanwhile purolovers gonna say anything over 3,000 on a cheap filter expect tears not meant to go over.

Lol! Tratman; I know what you mean. Kinda makes me want to take a chance on running this DW-241 Driveworks on my 11' Docus or get one for the 97' Cavalier and go 6,500 miles

Yeah that's good to hear.. Gonna trade PureOne filter I got at AAP. I have heard the PureOnes are tearing too.. So, just have to not take the chance.

Yes, very true and VERY BAD for Purolator

These appear to be a very stout, low end filter. I have a couple but mine are white. Don't know why the change? I would use a Driveworks over a Classic anyday, atleast until Purolator admits they fixed the tearing issues.

I am still lost that a Pro Line made in NC plant has a steel crimp and say a Pennzoil or Valvoline or even a Purolator made in the same NC plant can have the glued together seams. Must be the heat getting to me LOL!
