Downside of android

This is made MUCH WORSE by GOOGLE's INSANE AD policy.

I can go to the play store. Search for something... and get a totally different app for first 3 results because paid promotion.
sometimes they are deviously close/fake to what you are trying to find.

See this example (not politics related in this use)
I search for Facebook and the first result is "truth social" sponsored.

An example Previously you could search for google keyboard and end up with 3rd party keyboards "for google" that look legit.

Apple does the same exact thing.

...

Finally, you talk about paid promotions. In over 25 years on Android, I have not had a bad experience. GUESS who might be paying for all these horror stories about Android?
Who's new phone sales are not exactly as expected?
I don't know the answers to these questions. I can guess for some reason you want a knock on Apple? International conspiracy that they are buying Android horror stories? If so no one else is buying horror stories?
Im confused but nothing knew and I could be wrong :p

McDonald's sells more hamburgers than any other chain.

Are they the best tasting? Most healthy?

People don't make smart decisions, they respond to marketing.
Absolutely spot on... people take that same approach with their belief that Starbucks must be the best coffee as it's the most profitable, blah blah blah. Those that support that brand are either too absent minded to know they can do FAR better at home FAR cheaper OR simply too lazy or unwilling to make time to do their own coffee concoctions. No doubt some companies are great at marketing as they absolutely suck at the products they offer.

Some of course will bash the Android platform, but I've been around Apple products for decades and have never been impressed with a single thing they offer. I like the technical aspect/adjustability for the user that Android has to offer and would never tolerate Apple's nanny ecosystem regardless of what they claim.

Exactly and people fail to investigate the two major platforms Apple and Android.

One hint, since one company makes the firmware, operating system and phones specifically for its hardware (Apple).
It will be more secure than dozens of companies making hardware for an adapted operating system such as Android. Only common sense that Android is the Wild West. It is getting better but it is a reason why half the USA prefers Apple devices over all others combined.

The "others combined" is Android :ROFLMAO:

That is like comparing a BWM to a Yarus.
Android is on low priced phones all over the world. iOS is on premium phones much the world can not afford.

Apple is a premium brand like its competition the Samsung Ultras which it still buries in sales.
Pretty impressive in a non 3rd world country like the USA that Apple sells 50% of all cell phones against all other manufacturers combined. That is truly an incredible statistic.

I dont think there is another company on earth with a stat like this. Im glad there are so many supporters of foreign companies competing against American companies though, we love to eat our own, even when it involves a world class leading product.
Just having fun here but the facts are the facts.

Samsung makes budget and premium phones, APPLE like any other premium name brand makes only premium products.

Analogy =
Reminds me years ago in the USA about Harley VS Honda. Harley sold like 50+% of heavy weight motorcycles in the USA.
But Honda outsold Harley by millions around the globe, included in Honda motorcycle sales are their mopeds extensively used in third world countries. Meanwhile in the USA they were slashing their lineup of more expensive heavy weight bikes.

BTW- I wish Apple or even Samsung had a phone like this, not sure if I would leave their Apple world over it but it is awesome from a Chinese company who doesnt sell in the USA.

I believe it would be good to keep in mind that there's one OS that is ran on one phone while the other side has one OS on many phones.

Here's the global, USA, China, and India market shares per OS. No EU or rest of world data from the article the graphs below came from.

I've used several Apple devices belonging to friends, family, etc. and have found all of them to be slow child's play at best. An iPhone is fine if you're under 10 or over 60 and can't figure out all Android platform has to offer as it's WAY more customizable than anything Apple has ever offered. Not to mention the tacky/duh look they have and the Apple watches are hideous at best, looks to be designed by a 10 yr old. Personally wouldn't bother with anything Apple offers if it was at NO cost. To each their own!

@alarmguy I replied to your assertion that Android is a less secure platform and because of that, more than 50% of people use Apple. Now you're flipping your argument to devices :ROFLMAO:

But the Android system is very close to 50% used in US, are you saying all of these people are not secured?
What about the rest of the world where Android has over 70% use rate? Is iOS less secure in those countries?
After all, "facts are facts".

So says the Jokester.

I’ve been using Apple products since 1983, and I gave Android a try with the Samsung Tab Ultra. While I appreciated the large display, I couldn’t get past its shortcomings compared to my iPad M2. That said, I’ll admit Apple isn’t the company it once was—its software quality and innovation have declined since Steve Jobs passed. 🙄

People around the world cannot afford luxury brands like in the United States.
Even in the United States people cannot afford luxury cars, but somehow they manage to buy iPhones and make apple the largest cell phone manufacturer in the country and the world

Can't imagine thinking an iPhone is some kind of luxury good.

The media rates phones (and all products) based on cost/quality, same applies to Samsung's or any company line of luxury priced offerings.
I dont apply the classification but maybe I used the wrong word, as stated in the post above I should have said "premium brand"

McDonalds burgers are also rather inexpensive ;)

That's not really a realistic comparison though, in this context. I can't easily just go down to the local chipster and buy the components to prepare myself a premium phone like I can with a burger. You can't even readily put together custom phones like you can gaming PC's (yes, you can build "custom" phones through some vendors, but you aren't buying the individual parts down the road and assembling everything).

And the comparison between iPhone/Android gets even more disjointed, because in one instance we are talking about a very specific brand of product, using their own OS, curating a very specific and well crafted experience and in the other, we are talking about an operating system from Google (based on Linux) that isn't restricted to any specific hardware or vendor, so it's effectively the wild west. Ergo, your experience can be anything from amazing to absolute hot garbage.

It's like comparing Microsoft Surface to Linux. Linux on what you ask? And what distro? Exactly.

There are inexpensive iPhones, so I think that's definitely a swing and a miss. Apple offers the iPhone SE for $429. The big thing with Apple is that they control the quality of the experience, since they manufacture both the hardware and the software. Android is, in many ways, like Windows, you can get it on a sweet high spec'd rig with premium components that flies, or some low rent Walmart special where it's an absolute dog. It may also come totally bloated with that vendor's own apps.
