I find it interesting that I think this way of our military personnel. For all the criticism they get from some quarters, it is beyond my comprehension the sense of duty to their fellow citizens they possess. Without people such as these, not the people who send them to all corners of the world, I wonder what condition the Western World would be in.
The pay is hardly adequate, the working condtions can be horrible and your life can be in jeopardy in a moment's notice.
I'm not critical, but as I am with many good people, I am amazed.
