Steil concluded "countries should abandon monetary nationalism," moving to adopt regional currencies, on the road to a global "one world currency."

Beyond that will be a Rollerball one world government. It's for the best, really. No borders ..no tariffs ..one seamless commercial zone governed by the financiers. They care and have everyone's best interests at heart...

With Bernanke in charge, it won't be long before the $ is at par with the Peso. Then you can all start using pesos. Canadians will continue to use real money.

I'm guessing this is the bigger part of the discussion between him and President Bush:

Quote:

He admitted he and President Bush had agreed to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas – a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere, suggesting part of the plan was to institute eventually a regional currency.

"Long term, very long term," he said. "What we proposed together, President Bush and myself, it's ALCA, which is a trade union for all the Americas."

One currency? Seems preposterous - something I can't imagine any US president taking seriously. So the defacto petrodollar would be the petroamero? Right.

Any economists to chime in?

I'll give it a shot.

One currency is certainly a plus for regional economic zones. It reduces the bureaucracy involved in currency exchange and lowers the barriers for cross border trade. So you have free movement of goods and services between countries.

But politically it is a difficult thing to achieve. the member countries have to be on a level playing field because single currency is controlled by a single central bank. The US government will never allow any other country have a say in its monetary policy. And I don't think that the partner countries will want to be the ones who support the American internal policies. it's one thing to be trade partners, it's another thing to be affected by the US interest rates, money supply and such. For example, if the US is in recession and needs to lower interest rates, and Costa Rica is running high inflation and needs higher interest rates, who do you think will win?

Something similar is happening in the EU right now. France wants to increase money supply and lower the exchange rate with the US$ to boost its exports. Germany and the rest do not want to do it because they fear inflation.

The Amero is a myth. Look it up on Snopes.com. Not happening, but an interesting debate.

Obviously it's a hoax. After all, the news item was on worldnetdaily.com

Fox obviously has all the answers.
He's made it so nice down there that millions of people leave to go north, and actually expect it to be as nice in the USA as it was down there for them.

I watched a couple of his interviews yesterday......I think he got into the silly mushrooms. We have a lot more to worry about from Mexico than some pesollars.

I think the Bush legal team has Fox covered on the these brutal murders by wetback illegals who brutally raped and killed the teen girls. Fox doesn't want them sent back......because his father realized the American dream in Mexico. Little mushrooms.
