Dogs like FP and LC too

Yes chocolate contains something similar to cafine which can be toxic to dogs. Takes a fair amount though. I did research on it after the wife's dog got into a bag of chocolate covered pretzels. For a large dog of 100lbs like him it would have taken like 4 pounds. I was enough to make him act a bit odd hyper then lathargic and his heart was racing. We usually keep thing better out of reach and he is uaually VER good but we had accidentally left the bag on the vounter.

The sneaky thing about chocolate is that it is cumulative. Give the dog the same chocolate you give it every day, and one day it gets very sick and dies. If it eats a candy bar, the raisins in it could kill it quicker than the chocolate. Some dogs are very sensitive to grapes and raisins. The vet didn't mention wine.

The Xylitol in sugar free gums is bad too. Stimulates the production of insulin, and the blood sugar tanks.

The last item in the vets talk I listened to last summer was bottle caps. Tears their insides up.

So my 32's of FP and LC were delivered yesterday and unbeknownst to me my kid brother stops by the house and brings the package inside for me. When i get home the box is destroyed and foam is everywhere and the FP bottle lay on the floor with a teeth impressions all over it. The LC is nowheres to be found... i find outside in the yard with the nipple bitten off and a steady stream flows out when i pick it up, it's full however. thank *** the dogs(retriever and eskimo) gave up on it when they did or i'd be having a double funeral today....

they also devoured a box of chocolates(imported grecian @ $12oz) that he delivered....

I understand they are attracted to the protein in the poop! Their stomachs can handle it.
One of my greyhounds swallowed a widdle wabbit while I and the other two dogs were chasing it!!! What a sight. Never had any ill effects and I never saw anything out of the ordinary in the waste!
