Doesn't look bad for a 19-year-old car

Well, I picked this thing up 2~ weeks ago—a 2006 Honda Accord ex v6 w/122k miles. Had the typical Honda rust spots fixed (both rear quarters panels. Had them cut the old rusted metal and weld new metal. Had a little rust on the hood. The Body shop sanded it down and Bondo. You can kinda tell if you look close). There's bubbling on the driver's side door. But, I'll worry about it later. Got the timing belt and water pump changed. Sprayed undercoating on the rear wheel wells. Had time today so clay bar and waxed the exterior. Cleaned and conditioned the leather seats. I'm beat 😂

Good job & those molded wheel flaps are a must anywhere they salt roads.
Yup, I was surprised when I found out the wheel wells weren't felt lined or plastic. So, under coating it was. There's a hole inside the driver's side wheel well. Might just fill it up with foam and call it a day

122K is nothing.

Salted roads for 18 years is something though. That would be my concern.

Car looks fantastic. Hope you get lots of use out of it!

What oil / filter you going to use?
Well, P.O. had been using Valvoline max life HM full synthetic 5w-20. I was going to go with supertech 5w-20 full synthetic. Idk if I should continue using high mileage oil or full synthetic will be okay.

I think the Super tech HM synthetic is same price as the regular, so, no brainer to stick with it.

If it is burning any oil, maybe run a couple OCI's of Valvoline R&P.

I think they had a plastic wheel well.. My 2007 had them front and back....I think the 7 gen accord were the best looking...esp the coupe....

Nope, not burning a drop of oil. Trans fluid was changed at 117k miles. PCM was recently replaced by Honda. Pads and rotors all the way around have a decent life left on them. Tires are 4-year-old Michelin. My mechanic looked at the suspension and said everything looked fine. Timing belt (and the other comments) were original Honda parts. No cracks on the belt. But, better safe than sorry.

Yup the 7th gen still had the wishbone suspension front and back....

Weird, mine didn't have anything. Fronts have plastic liners
was it ever in a accident??? You can probably get some and install yourself....Plastic clips hold them on...I just looked up your car and it did have plastic wheel wells like my 07 did...

If I recall, it was in a minor front accident. Hence why the passenger side headlight looks new vs the driver's side. Also, the front bumper was replaced. I looked on carparts.com, don't see rear wheel well liners for a 2006 Accord.

They have them for the front....I looked it up typing honda parts online... these are oem parts...

Your Accord looks great. It will easily go another ten years, unless rust damages the undercarriage.
Our '07 k24 Accord (we bought it new Dec '06) has nearly the same mileage on it that your's does. Only two repairs so far in 18 years; belt tensioner pulley and ignition switch. Both were very easy and cheap to do. The ignition switch inside the column is a common issue, lots of how-to videos on YouTube. Took approx 15 minutes for me to change it.
Great cars.

My 07 with the 2.4 had 386000 on my when I traded it in...NO issues...

I feel like rust is going to kill this thing... I tried to take care of the majority of the rust. Applied a layer of wax and two "layers" of spray wax before it gets too cold and starts to snow. I heard nail polish remover can "remove" rust permanently?

Undercoating, as in a rubberized version? That stuff is bad. Looks OK but seals in moisture and helps it rust faster. Woolwax, Fluid Film, Krown, Some other spray versions like PB Blaster Shield or something like that. An Oily creeping version, not rubber sealing. I know Woolwax comes in black colored also.

Depending on how long you plan to own it and cost, maybe have it rust proofed such as Sequoiasoon suggested in post #18. I don't know what rust proofing costs, but probably worth it even on an older car, with the high price of new cars now.
They don't use much salt in my area, compared to the northeast, so I've never had rust proofing done.
