Does RAM just die?

All the electrolytics on the MB looked fine.

Ironically I "visited" cap factories in China 2004ish to make sure no faking from our guys.

I loved the pics of the small lower volt caps stuck in a larger can!!

From what I seen the motherboard was all polymers with some electrolytics down by what I presume is the sound chipset probably for output filtering, even if those went bad I don't think they'd take down the board.

Caps on motherboards haven't been an issue since 2009-ish. Anything made in the last 10 years have mostly solid polymer caps which will outlive you.

I just went today with a friend to MC to buy the i7-13700k, 32gb ddr5, and a Asus mobo today. The prices are great, they're basically trying to clear space for the 14th gens.
