They are just going to tell you to return it to place of purchase for a refund. They do not care about the why it happened.

Anything mass produced is bound to have flaws in the process. Friend had similar issues with K&N. Seller said "as is" Contacted K&N wanted a receipt and codes on filter/box. They replied the filters were very old stock and the seller was not an authorized re-seller, so his loss. Low price should be a BIG warning. The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten....

Fully agree. Menards is an approved retailer of Purolator products. Just a yearly sale.
