For example, one uses full syn MaxLife on an engine w/ 150k miles for an 8k OCI. Then takes car to dealership and they use a non-HM syn-blend. Does the benefits of the MaxLife still linger for the seals, etc into the new oil change? Hope that's clear.

Yes, you're clear in what you are asking. And my answer is, IMO, YES!
However to a very small extent as not all engine oil is drained during an OCI.
There is still some oil left in the engines where it can't be drained from such as the cylinder heads & galleries.
And too, HM benefits will soon be diminished(if they've even started doing anything yet) throughout the length of th OCI and will need to be replenished.

The effects of HM oil linger for a few thousand. Then the leaks come back. So you may start dripping towards the end of a 6k OCI.

Right after a HM oil was used yes, but the seal will likely go back to it's original condition over time. It's not like the seal will instantly shrivel up.

If you start using a HM oil to stop or slow leaks, it's best to stick with it for the sake of the seals.

I'd say yes, it will linger for a while. That would depend on how much remains, and how much life was remaining in what was not drained out. I'd stick with HM oil if I had a problem with leaks.

I do not believe in the marketing hype of the High mileage version of oils.I tried, but then came the SUV oil, the truck oil, the cabriolet oil and the 18" inch wheel oil and lost my faith.
So ,for me ,there is no residual effect after the are removed because there wasn't anything special going on before that.

I guess chemistry does not exist in Greece.

Yes. The seals won't magically shrivel up as just soon as the HM oil is drained out. There are still "some" conditioners in the new oil going in. Its a slow process in either direction. Just resume HM oils next time an OC is due. No stress necessary, it will be fine.

I bought an 04 Taurus for my son to run from ohio to his college in Illinois. The car had sat in a barn for a year during an estate settlement when I bought it,,was pretty near mint outside of a little rocker rust, but better than most. Mileage was 98k and I found most of the service records in glove box. Of course within a hundred miles driving it home I smelled oil (rear valve cover) which is a pita to change. I got it home, changed the oil with max life 5-20 and flushed all fluids. The leak stopped by the time he got it back to Illinois and never came back. Fast forward to 3k miles and I did another change using 5-30 pp that I had laying around and 5k later at the next change no leaks still. It could have been that everything became oil soaked and any oil would have fixed the very slow seap. At least it saved me some busted knuckles and a few hours of my life. Hand calculated the car averaged 26 mph on a 300 mile trip on platinum versus 23 on max life. That's a pretty hefty change imo.

I use Valvoline Full synthetic Max Life during cold months for a longer OCI . I then switch to regular dino for my shorter OCI during warmer months . The vehicle is a 1999 Explorer with 151,000 miles I have used this combo for a few years with no leaks or issues .
