Does BITOG make a chirping noise now?

I've been hearing a chirping jingle for a while. I usually have BITOG open in a tab, so I'm wondering if maybe one of the ads (I don't see any due to a popup blocker) is noisy. I can't imagine what else it could be. Every few minutes I hear this jingle. It's not loud, but it comes from the computer's speakers. I'm slowly going nuts here. Does anybody else hear something (other than voices

while having BITOG open?

Oh wait... Nevermind.

I just heard it again!

I don't have any speakers hooked up here but I haven't been hearing this on the other computers I use. Haven't used anything with speakers yet today.

Yes, Yes.....My plan is working perfectly.

Uh, Ummmm, nothing to see here lads; move along, move along.

Squeakies are here!

PS: I can turn the speaker volume down all the way and the jingle is audible just the same.

Is this like getting a couple of people together and staring at an arbitrary spot on the ceiling? You know, to see how many people you can trick into gathering around and staring at the ceiling?

I have a mental image of scores of BITOG'ers all sitting motionless in front of their monitors, all with their heads cocked to one side.

Jingles are MIDIs/Synthesizer in the sound card mixer thingy.

Maybe if you looked in your browser cache you'll find the gremlin?

Samilcar, what you are describing is no more than an unintended side effect of my plight!

Little Jeff, I don't know how to "look in my browser cache," but I did clear the cache. The jingle keeps troopering on...

I am wondering if the jingle is some kind of as of yet unheard prompt. Alas, there is absolutely no visual indicator. The jingle sounds like "la-la-ling."

Well I think that settles it. Clearly the sound is coming from your transmission, not your computer.

Well, I was running some not-off-the-shelf ripping applications yesterday. Maybe those left some gremlins behind...

I now realize the jingle is Main Menu's confirmation jingle. I can only assume that Main Menu needs my attention. Let me see what happens if I run all maintenance scripts. That will take 2 minutes.

Alright, it was Main Menu. After running all maintenance scripts the jingle has been eradicated. *knocks on wooden head*

Thank you for bearing with me.
