When iI'm not breaking rear windows out of this '09 Rogue, I've had two times when it starts making a ringing noise. Just parked, not running or moving.

Once was in my shop with the right rear door open (replacing the glass I broke for sport) and the second time was ~30 minutes after parking it outside with all doors closed.

It literally sounds like a phone trill, just a slightly higher pitch than the quintessential phone ring.

Sound system appears OEM and I don't think an '09 Rogue had the capability to "take calls" ala OnStar et al?

NOW, I found plenty of complaints with this in Muranos of the era, and it appears to be a liftgate sensor issue.

I'm posting because I can't find confirmation that the Rogue is plagued with the same liftgate sensor issues? And I also couldn't figure out if only power liftgates would be affected? This does not appear to have a power liftgate and I'm not sure it was an option on the 1st Gen Rogues as they're more of an entry level vehicle?

Has anyone else experienced this on a Rogue?

There are OBDII pressure (vacuum?) tests that happen to the fuel system at intervals after the vehicle has been shut off to check its integrity. Perhaps you are hearing a pump of sensor doing such a check.

Well, if it can make you swear your cell is ringing repeatedly......I suppose maybe.

Found a video finally. They describe it as beeping. I can tell you in real life it's easily interpreted to be similar to a phone ring

Seems no one knows. Maybe an intelligent key issue. If it's a door ajar warning, still makes no sense to do it randomly while parked with no recent activity, AND it's clearly meant to be heard outside the vehicle ‐‐ although I don't know EXACTLY what broadcasts it

Are you getting the yellow triangle with the exclamation sign when it happens like in the video? Maybe something captured in the information display as stated in the owner's manual below?

I've never been in the driver seat when it happens. Would be weird if it detected any errors just sitting parked, but it is Nissan, so maybe?

That sound is the door ajar chime and it's sounding in that video posted above because the door is open while the ignition switch is being turned on. If you're starting your vehicle very much like that person in the video, you should hear the same noise. Cycle the ignition on and off while the door is open to confirm this. ;)

Nah, I just checked and that's four beeps in rapid succession
beep beep beep beep
beep beep beep beep

This is more like a phone ring and is clearly audible with vehicle parked, doors closed, windows rolled up, from 50' away.

If you didn't know better you'd swear someone must have left or lost their cell phone on or near the vehicle

Try this: Remove the physical key from the key fob(just in case), place the fob itself on the driver's seat, then shut the driver's door. Now hit the door lock button from the outside and see if that matches the beeping you've heard several times. The "locking a fob in the car" warning is pretty loud and is audible at that distance. It's also a very rapid beep.

That's it, thank you! I have no idea exactly why it'll randomly do it. Both times the keys were inside but no attempt to lock the doors had been made.

It seems a bit foolish to randomly be parked and then announce to the world "Hey the keys are in here and I'm unlocked"....if people knew what the sound meant

But thanks for solving the mystery!!!

You're welcome. As for the random aspect of hearing the noise, the car must think that an attempt to lock the door was made. Since it's so intermittent you've only heard it twice, it would probably be hard to narrow down what is causing it, though it's likely door switch related(or maybe lift gate as you suggested. Does the Rogue have the ability to lock all the doors from the lift gate?)
