Does anyone still make a simple passenger car?

Just parked next to a nice new Navigator - whilst Lincoln does not sell much - people tend to prefer SUV’s …

I like the fact that my Civic coupe has 16” wheels. Some trim levels came with 18s and that just ends up costing a little bit more for tires plus the lower profile tires gives a harsher ride. I’ve got 19s and 20s on my Corvette so I like having one car with low cost tires 😃

My Club Sport came with 16" wheels and 225/50ZR16 tires; that size is perfect for a relatively light and low powered vehicle (0-60 in the high seven second range).

as a 4th gen mazda 3 owner i gotta say mazda 3 :)
no turbo
no touchscreen-- especially no massive screen sticking out the console!
no over the air updates (but the car is still connected. i guess you have to explicitly write to mazda to disable it)
manual transmission (not valid for n. american market i guess)

the only fancy items on my car are folding side mirrors, headlight sprays, seat heating, rear parking sensor (no camera) and HUD :)

That is an interesting setup, in Canada we can get a base model manual transmission, but its got a screen, and no HUD or headlight washers.
The province of Quebec here has the most similar car preferences to Europe, but it seems a lone market of 8M in North America isn't enough to keep too many simple mtx competent cars sold here.

Watched this the day it was placed on Y.T.. Test drove a '25 SE Ultimate Red and new ( 1st year ) '20 Galactic Gray ( flat ) with the C.V.T.. Bought 2 '25 Soul LXs' which were around same price . The SOUL has a little more space behind the seats . Liked the Venue for its standard cargo cover that has an upright slot to store it in when taller items are placed in the back . Both vehicles have 6.7 " ground clearance . The VENUE is sharper looking than the SOUL . Both are easy to do O.C.s' and change engine / cabin air filter .
