Does anyone just drive the car anymore?

In the winter, when its nasty out or my when driveway is especially slippery I'll shut the radio or my audio book off so I can concentrate on just driving and figuring out how to get up the hill...
For commuting I might turn off the radio for the couple interesting parts where I can have some fun, but most of the time its on.

While I'm sure you jest, and I don't know what vintage vehicle you own: but in the general case, ponder what might happen if while smoking a pipe you were to have an accident where the airbag went off.

"You worry too much son..."

A complaint I have about my GTI is the lack of interesting noises. It has the "intake pipe to the interior" thing, so with that I feel like it makes good noises.

But after driving the Blue Ridge Parkway in it, with the very small and tight tunnels... I feel like I'm missing out. I put the windows and sunroof down and bolted through them at full throttle and was treated to a beautiful mix of exhaust noise, turbo noise, and intake noise.

The car truly sounded incredible. If only VW could have figured out how to capture that and allow more of it to creep into the car.
