I need to replace my 3rd generation 02-08 Dodge Ram Ball joints upper and lower. I know auto parts quality has declined. What brands are of better quality these days?
Thanks

Spicer is your best bet. Followed by moog then trw.
Where would I buy for decent pricing and no/ little risk of counterfeits? And would that apply to control arms as well just to do them and be done?

For my 03 1500 2wd... and keep in mind this was 4- 5 years ago...

Upper arms... had to buy assemblies (basically new upper arm with ball joint / bushings installed). These were sourced from Rock Auto & were Mopar. Were made in Canada.

Lower arms- ball joints were sourced from dealer (I think Canada COO as well)... bushings were TRW from Rock Auto (and were made in US.) I rebuilt lower arms since price for Mopar lowers were stupid expensive.

All parts have been fine since I completed the repair.

No clue if Mopar suspension/ steering parts are still available for 02/ 08... and I would bet if TRW still offers bushings, they probably are no longer domestically manufactured.

It's a crap shoot out there... call a local dealer though if you are looking for quality parts... see if they have anything available.

2005 Outback, replaced front struts. Gabriel Ultra on left and Sachs TRW on right (couldn't get Sachs for both).

Used Beck Arnley strut mounts and the bearings were clearly stamped JAPAN, which I thought was respectable.
