Do you use a desktop computer?

Seems that fewer and fewer people do. I use a laptop, tablet, and phone. What about you?

ive always used a desktop. i do have a laptop i use for work and cant stand it. i was also rather late on the smartphone craze. didnt get my first one till the iphone 6s. i find myself using it more and more but nothing will ever take me away from my desktop 🙃

I like desktop way better, laptop's ergonomics aren't as good unless you use external keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors. It also is loud when running hot and it is not easy to attach another 4-6 SSD to it, and of course not enough cooling for a real GPU and CPU if you game.

To me a Chromebook + Desktop is ideal. Use the Chromebook to remote into the desktop for away and use the Chromebook directly for browsing only.
laptop cooler, which keeps the temperature down on my work laptop.

Desktop connected to 55" tv. Great for streaming, gaming, and browsing the internet from across the room.

Good point about the noise from the fans. My laptop has plenty of resources to run multiple applications on two 24" screens, but man do the fans scream! I don't have that issue at all with my desktop.
Your heatsinks and or air vents are probably plugged up with dust. I have a new Dell Precision laptop with Thunderbolt 4 dock that is quiet. I prefer desktops but it is nice to have the laptop to be able to work from home for me. I need USB/serial ports for my work so remoting into the office isn't always an option.

It has been this way since new. I blow it out about once per year and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I have a desktop (older), laptop, cell phone and tablet. I prefer the desktop or laptop (which is setup like a desktop with a monitor, keyboard and mouse) because I can get stuff done about 10 times faster than on the phone or tablet.

Yes, an old Dell Dimension 4600, 3.0 ghz Pentium, 4 MB ram, running W7. This PC is built to last.

A 13” laptop that spends 95% life in a stand as third monitor. It is hooked up to dual monitor 30” , mechanical keyboard and nice apple trackpad.

I had a desktop about 20 years ago when a 40MB hard drive and 2 gigs of RAM were hot stuff. Since then nothing but laptops, 17" desktop replacements all. Recently purchased Lenovo Legion 5 with 1TB SSD/16GB RAM is nothing short of amazing.

We have both. We each have our laptop for work and other tasks. We also have a home office with desktop. I like using the desktop better than the laptop since it's way more powerful and the office is nicer to use. My laptop is powerful enough to do everything I need but when I'm in the middle of writing long articles or trainings, i prefer the office since its set up better ergonomically for me. Plus our 27" 2K screen is nicer than the FHD screens on our cheaper laptops.

Desktop, two screens, 48GB or RAM and multiple VMs running. 1/2 TB SSD boot disk, a 6.4TB SSD card that was a customer reject used to host VMs, so no great loss if it fails. 10TB of spinning rust to hold other files, ISO images, documents, etc.

I have several laptops and tablets for those moments when I'm away.

I never owned a laptop and my desktop crapped out last year. I decided to try using my ipad only and I came to the conclusion that I don’t miss my desktop.

Desktop, but its getting long in the tooth. I do have a laptop that I bought used last year to take with me on road trips. So much easier than trying to look up stuff on a smart phone.

Yesterday I fired up the 2013 Dell desktop i3 for the first time in about a month, to do taxes on. This has been a great desktop. Fired right up and runs even better now, since I have more bandwidth than just a few months ago. It even comes out of the "sleep" mode to do updates and shuts off again. It is still perky and requires very little upkeep. I am a very happy customer 9 years later. Although I have never had a Dell laptop that has lasted or worked seamlessly.

Almost always since I'm mostly working from home right now due to my surgery. I have a laptop (MBP) but I haven't used it much in the last 6 months. This old Mac Pro has two 27" screens and I can have tons of stuff open. I also use an ergonomic keyboard.
Just upgraded to two 32" screens for my birthday. Even easier on the eyes.
