So your screen name DOES reference Jay. COOL!

Yes sir. He's the absolute best songwriter ever.IMHO of course. Seen them 4 times in the last 5 years and will be seeing them again in April.

I like metal, rock, and alternative, if you absolutely must put them into genres. IMO, though, some bands (like Breaking Benjamin) are so amazingly good they should be their own personal genre.
I LOVE The Rasmus, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, 30 Seconds to Mars, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steve Conte* (not the garbage iTunes sells under his name, though), and Papa Roach.
No, I cannot choose a favorite. :]

However, my dad (Whitewolf), likes just about everything I hate, and plays it at night. Loud.
I am therefore forced into my room and I play 'Last Resort' as loud as my eardrums can bear in order to block out Willie Nelson, Bon Jovi, and Cher.

The memories of such nights makes me shudder.

*Steve Conte sing music to accompany anime shows/video games such as Kingom Hearts (I&II) and Wolf's Rain. I don't expect you to have ever heard of them, but if you like anime you are my new best friend. xD

Triple 7,

I agree with you 100%.

I am soooo tired of listening to 60's and 70's rock.

But I do like Glam Rock for the 80's. Most of these groups were one hit wonders, but still pretty good music.

What 60's and 70's rock are you tired of? All of it or just the stuff they play on "oldies" radio stations. I for one am tone deaf. My wife tells me so. So my opinion does not count. So discontinue reading now!

I like Weather Report, Bob Marley, Ludacris, Busta Ryhmes(flip mode), Sublime, Reel Big Fish, older Dave Matthews stuff, di Agostino, and Opera. I love to take a nap with opera playing softly in the background.

Oh and I cain't foget to say Outkast!

also: Jazz (Brubeck/Davis/some female vocal jazz singers)

I hate country/pure and [censored] pop/rap/hiphop.

I had seen them right after the formation of Son Volt "2.0", and the release of Okemah.
This was at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan.
KICK*** concert!!!!

I ran into him outside the Vogue in Indianapolis in October 05 before the show. I went and got my copy of Okemah from the car and he signed it. He and Chris Masterson are in Brooklyn on the 23rd.Do you eve visit his message board?

Music puts me to sleep, so I seldom listen to it in the car.

Talk radio, both sides of the spectrum, from NPR to Rush to be well rounded. Mostly Christian radio.

I'm a classic rock guy, myself.

Going to see The Moody Blues at Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA on April 25th :). I'd love to see a Rush concert before they're done touring, but tickets are always expensive.

Mostly Blues and Classic Rock. On occasion select classical music (the more up beat stuff), some oldies, some big band, rarely Jazz (Tom Scott and the LA Express is great). Detroit area has a great Blues program on 97.4 FM called Anything Blue Will Do, plays Sun 9 to midnight.

Miss the Alice Cooper radio show. Seems 97.4 stopped carrying it (or hopefully he is just taking a week off). Liked Alice's show because he plays a lot of stuff that rarely gets played, his corny humor is fun, and a lot of historical music facts.

I listen to rock and old school country mostly.

I can't take hair metal even though I grew up listening to it in the 80's.

Oops, not 97.4 FM (for all I know that might be elevator music of some other rubbish

), it's actually 94.7. Big difference.

They're going to play in Seattle Friday night.

I'd pay top dollar for a bootleg of that. Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to hang down my head and cry...
