Kendrick Lamar Picked for Half Time Show

There's been a decent mix of good artists:

Just to name a few. . .

  • Maroon 5, Travis Scott, Big Boi (2019)
  • Paul McCartney (2005)
  • U2 (2002)
  • The Weeknd (2021)
  • Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (2009)
  • Michael Jackson (1993)
  • Coldplay, Beyoncé, and Bruno Mars (2016)
  • Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliott (2015)

Thats not a decent mix. All hip-hop-pop.

I was so looking forward to RHCP in 2014. But alas, the sound was terrible. Surprise!

I was at a small company in OR around 1992. They made balanced sound systems for stadiums and all sorts of large buildings and auditoriums. Even back then they could pretty much have smart speaker coverage so zero echo, zero reverb, zero bounce to the human ear. I find it amazing they can't mic it up so the sound through a decent home TV sound system at least is listenable. Almost like they don't want good sound at home.

Carry on. And get off mah lawn

I’m from Florida so I think Rick Ross would be a great choice for half time show.

I really don't know much about why the sound is bad. It would seem that when a network covers the Superbowl-it's a money is no object situation. So is there some sort of technical reason)s) why the sound cannot be made better in that environment?
IDK.

Paul McCartney -if he isn't "POP" what is he?
Adult contemporary is what I'd call it. He's over 80 years old and this is in context to his music today or going back a decade+. He's not in the same genre or competing with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, etc. He's released 2 albums in the past 10 years too.
