Since some of us put "exotic" oils into our cars, do you also drink "exotic" beers?

Personally I can NOT drink Budweisser, Bud light, Coors light, Miller anything, u get my drift..

This is my favorite beer:

I usually go for micro or craft brews that are locally made or at least made close to where I am drinking them. I am rarely completely disappointed and frequently find a good beer I haven't tried before.

I agree on Bud et al. I will drink a diet Coke before I drink a Bud.

I enjoy a well made craft beer as well as some of the more 'refined' imports, but I cannot deny that I have a special place in my heart for a true, cheap, mass produced, American style beer. Sometimes I just want a bud light. Right now, I have a 6 pack of PBR in the fridge. They taste just as good as any other beer, they're just different. Some days, I have a hankering for a Julius Echter Hefeweisen. Some days, I really want a King Cobra and nothing else will do. It depends on mood, weather, and any number of factors. By eliminating the choices that you have available when choosing a beer, you only hurt yourself.

BTW, shouldn't we move this to Foods/Cooking/Beverages?

We are lucky to have several Micro-brewerys within a reasonable driving distance so something 'different' here usually isn't a problem.

Worst case - i'll settle for Dos Equois Amber, Beck's Dark, Guiness Extra Stout, or lastly Amberbock.

Labatt 50 is all I need.

However, I've had just about every beer under the sun, and I like a lot of them. I just don't buy them due to availability or price.

Also, some people will opt not to have beer at your place if you have weird [censored] they've never heard of :)

That's one of my favs as well but not the dunkel style. I don't though see that as exotic. It's a regular type of beer in Germany, perhaps the home of beer.

The sheer variety out there is quite an eye opener, especially if you are used to the American style beers. And if you're fortunate to have travelled to countries like Germany and the Czech Republic it is truly a wonderful experience.

The beers I guess I would class as exotic are the Belgian and perhaps English ones. Quite a few unique local varieties eg lambic beers in Belgium where fermentation takes place through yeasts occuring naturally in the air.

Budweiser and Coors would be considered exotic here, and I don't,and wouldn't drink them.I like beer from micro breweries, and the better quality low production beers from our bigger breweries.

I had this one beer from Austria once. It tasted very good. The monks who made it priced it so they don't get any profit.

I enjoy several micro-brews. Long Hammer IPA is one of my favorites, along with Dogfishhead brews.

I keep Sam Adams, and some other domestics on hand for visitors.

I drink only German beer from breweries in Bavaria.
I cant stand ice cold American beer, warm its even worse. Kupfer Dunkel and Maisel´s Weisse with a lemon slice are my favourites.

Dogfish Head beers are great. I prefer micro-brews, but I don't drink much so the per beer cost effects me little. My brother drinks bud, but he goes through more than a case a week- if I did that, I think I would drink bud. In the summer after working in the yard and being tired, I love Bud or Miller lite.

Yeah I love the Franziskaner, good bear. I'm at a phase or have been for the past 8 years that I really hate beer. The taste of it is bland, and I have a problem with bloat. I can only have 1 beer and I get "full".

I've been scrounging around trying different beers but nothing suites my taste(I love Franziskaner but last time I had it, tasted much different than I remembered it being). I stock Coor's Light for the wife and I'll crack one open now and then but not to often.

I also used to like Guinness but bleh not anymore. Stella(was pretty good) but nothing new(tried all those German/Euro beers) not to impressed either. Recommendations would be helpful.

I tried LandShark and as soon as I tasted it(let alone smelled it) I threw it out as its Budweiser relabeled. American Beer has a much more "bitter" taste to it. I like them cold(only way with American Beer) oh and Heineken(never drink it room temp). Darker beers like New Castle were good room temp and colder.

I catch your drift. You ever read the comic book "Gen 13"? Rob Leifeld is a great artist..

kidding aside, get back on topic.

Give me beer recommendations! First person to say Labatt Blue or Blue Moon gets an

I also prefer my beer from Bavaria. Paulaner from Munich is my favorite: Hefe Weiß and their pilsner - depending on my mood.

Erdinger is also a favorite and is brewed in Erding, a suburb of Munich. I prefer their dunkel weiß to the Paulaner dunkel.

For a non-Bavarian German beer, I like DAB. It's from the Dortmund and is quite tasty.

And finally,, I also like Dos XX. It's actually a refreshing drink.. and you gotta love their commercials! haha

Well I guess I don't like beer as I drink Miller products.

To each his own. Not all of us folks can find or afford to look for an exotic beer.

After 4 or 5 beers...doesn't make much difference what brand it is.

The best beer is "free" beer....just sayin'...
