Well, a local oil change shop didn't do that for my Transit. The tech didn't even look at it. The gasket from the old oil filter (Fram Xtra Guard, for those curious) had stuck on there when the filter was removed. The new filter was installed over the top of the old gasket. It passed the start up leak test where the oil pressure is very low. Once on the road, at operating pressure, it blew out the gaskets and pumped all of its oil onto the ground. By the time the warning light came on, it was too late and the engine was toast. $11k from his inusrance company later, with a Ford factory remanufactured Ecoboost, that shop now checks the filter mounts and wipes them clean.
