Do dealers/shops actually still cut rotors?

Man in 2007 it was replace pads rotors together, always. Even under free maintenance. They’ve become so mainstream and get the money oriented
My BMW dealer as well as my M-B dealer have replaced pads without replacing or resurfacing the rotors. In both cases I was paying for the service.

My biggest challenge is time. I have too many things to do, and not enough time to do them.

When I replace rotors and pads together, I’m done in under an hour.

If I need to take my rotors to get them turned, that’s adding time to the job.

Drive to the shop.
Wait for them to get machined and hope they can be done while I wait, or come back later.
Pay the shop 50% of what new rotors would cost.
Drive home.
Now I’ve got a half-day into this job

I've been having more turned now when time allows. My O'Reilly has been doing a great job and it's $20 cars and $25 trucks on the commercial side.

Sometimes they'll accidentally charge something like a Lexus SUV as a car, and I don't lose sleep. I think they see "Lexus" and think car.

I don't know about thin non-vented rotors like on the rear of many cars? I haven't tried to have any of those turned. I guess I could measure thickness before against the min spec. It doesn't look like they have any to spare.

I found an old school place not far from me that still turns rotors and drums. $30 each. It was really worth it as I was able to reuse the original factory drums on my son's Tundra. Newer after market drums seem to have bad reviews and new OE are spendy.

Was able to get new front rotors on Amazon for $25 each, that have worked just fine.
