Is there an oil that is appropriate for both?

I don't believe the OP's BMW has a DI engine, but maybe he can confirm. With today's low-sulphur fuel it makes sense to run LL-04 instead of LL-01 on
a DI BMW. Plenty of PCMOs available with both LL-04 and Dexos approvals:

Correct, not DI.I don't believe the OP's BMW has a DI engine, but maybe he can confirm.
Also, none of the oils you linked to meet Dexos 1 spec.
The BMW N52 is approved to run oils with the LL-01FE certification. These oils have HTHS of 3.0 to 3.5 The N52 might be approved to run the low-saps version (LL-12FE) but BMW moved that information behind a pay wall and I don't have the time to really look elsewhere. LL-12FE has similar characteristics to Dex 1 Gen 2.Just curious. I have an 07 328i BMW and an 18 Chevy Colorado V6, which id direct injected...

Many Euro GM gasoline models also spec Dexos 2.Correct, Dexos 2 is GMs spec for diesel engines. MY DI gasser V6 requires Dexos1, Gen 2. That terminology they picked is pretty stupid and easy to confuse though for sure.
No, N52 is only LL01FE when it comes to FE oils. The BMW N52 is approved to run oils with the LL-01FE certification. In Europe N52 was sold too together with N53.Yes, it's confusing.
In 2006/2007 BMW still sold MPI engines in the US? So American
customers had to wear out other market's well-worn clothes?
Post warranty all of the mentioned oils should serve well I'm sure,
as well as similar spec ones. BMW suggest using either LL-01 or
LL-04 oil on all engines from late 1990s on, Euro versions at least.
