The PH7317 thread inspired me to cut open a DL7317 that was on our Honda since 2019. It accumulated a minimum of 7k kilometers with the MM down to 15%. The Parker ADBV was still flexible and it held a fair bit of oil after draining overnight. I left it to drain again overnight and will take better pictures and upload them tomorrow. There was no carbon in the pleats but there were deposits at the bottom of the can.

Looks good. What went back in and on ?

Looks ok, like it got the job done at ~4300+ mi. The years used for the miles and what that implies likely a bigger factor here. As for adbv, nitrile generally ok for ~5k mi oci. That and Hondas ime with multiple models, don't tend to be very prone to a start up rattle, even with a compromised adbv.

As for Defense filter line, haven't seen them for sale since small WV based discount chain store closed its doors several years ago, then went out of business. Basically a jobber tier filter, and at one point in first Fram Champ alliance, some were ecores made by Champ. Wondering what oil you ran here?

Thanks for c&p.

Thanks for the notes about the ADBV. I'm notot sure what was oil was used, as I did not do the oil change but, top offs were Quaker State Conventional 5w20. Here are some more pics from today.

That's some serious black oil and filter.

I'd do a short OCI, a few months or few thousands miles, and change all oil and filter to get back on track.
