DIY windshield washer fluid

For a simple "recipe", this thread is surprisingly difficult to follow.

The product in post #7 requires methanol and water to be added to "the capful" of the product.
Where does one buy methanol or ethanol?

Years ago, I whipped up a batch of "rubbing alcohol windshield cleaner" and when I squirted it, my passengers cried out. One, a recovering alcoholic, claimed I was threatening his sobriety.
I told him if he was drinking this stuff, he'd have rapidly developing problems.

I have one l of 99% isopropyl left.

303 tablets or Nextzett mixed with distilled water is all I’ve done for years. In the winter time, same protocol but with winter fluid I get once you’re above Sacramento/Auburn.

$4 per jug currently at Walmart. I got a bunch on clearance end of season last year for $2/jug. I throw in 1/2 of the summer dose amount of the Kristal Klar into each gallon for a bit extra cleaning of grime.

The Walmart I was just at didn't have any Prestone, I'll need to check another 1-2 on way home tomorrow maybe.

I'll post in the sale threads-
They did have the Supertech -25F reduced to $2.50/jug. The -20F still had $3.66 listed and the Rain-X stuff had clearance label for $4/jug.

Online still shows the -25F Supertech for $3.98 so you'll need ti stop and check.
